Dizzy...Dizzy...BLACKOUT

In the kitchen making a milkshake, while Karen made her breakfast. It was a "typical" morning on the Friday of July 20, 2007 when my world came crashing down ;) I was sitting on a barstool in the kitchen of my home when I felt very dizzy and ill. I had told my sister Karen that I wasn't feeling well and that's the last thing I remember... next thing I know I am lying on the floor with Karen standing over me. She is on the phone with my mom trying to explain to her the details of this sudden event. All I could think about was what happened and why does my shin hurt so bad. Karen informed me that I had just passed out and started seizing on the chair. She was very frantic and didn't know if she should call my mom first or if an ambulance would be necessary. Luckily my mom rushed home, but in the meantime I had gotten up to see that somehow I had scraped my leg on the way down (and that's why it was hurting me) and then I walked over to the couch to lie down. I was a little frantic myself just trying to replay in my mind exactly what had happened.

Later that day my dad came over from work to check on me. My parents had been talking and they called my Uncle (who is our doctor) just to make sure that I didn't need to go to the hospital for any tests or procedures. I have only passed out one other time in my life and I had the same fluish symptoms as I did that Friday. My Uncle said it was probably because I was dehydrated and my electrolytes were imbalanced. He said to rest and drink lots and lots of gaterade!!! I was going to be fine (not that I was too worried but mostly everyone else was) so that was great news. :)
